Steel Bridge Team |
|
The Michigan Tech Steel Bridge Team is a group of students that have a passion for applying class related material to real life situations by designing and constructing a bridge each year with a different set of standards set by the ASCE and AISC. A link to their page with the set of detailed rules can be found in the Related Links section of this page. Michigan Tech Steel Bridge Team has been a top contender for entering the National Competition two years in a row and we hope to continue the great success that we have had over the past years. |

The Bridge Team is strictly a team. We are not an enterprise, therefore you can show up when ever you wish and if your class load is too heavy you can focus on that more. Education is our primary goal, and we achieve that by applying what we learn in class to the designing and manufacturing of the bridge. The knowledge applied to the bridge team comes from many aspects and every member brings a separate bit of knowledge to the table from understanding structures and load transfers to knowing how to weld and fabricate pieces in the shop. We are always looking to expand our team. |
