Dr.
Hand's research interests include the development and
application of physical and chemical processes for the
recovery, removal, or destruction of organic compounds
from air and water streams in industrial processes and
the environment. Since 1983, he has been involved as a
principal and co-principal investigator in environmental
engineering research projects funded by over eight million
dollars. Dr. Hand has authored and co-authored 75 peer
reviewed journal articles, 15 peer reviewed published
reports, 9 refereed conference proceedings, 2 published
abstracts, 12 unpublished and/or confidential reports,
2 patents, 7 copyrighted software programs, and 50 contributions
to conferences and symposia which were not given in proceedings.
