Meral Jackson

Doctoral Student

Welcome to my home page.† Please feel free to peruse my site and follow my links.† I have included professional organizations, volunteer activities and organizations, and other people/places/events that have been part of my life at one time or another.

I am currently working on a doctorate degree at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) in Environmental Engineering.† My research focuses on reduced nitrogen compound emissions from corn and soybean agriculture, and their influence on formation of secondary aerosols.† In my previous lives, I have been a researcher in Forest Biology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), worked in survey research at Northwestern Michigan College, and worked in the biosolids industry.† In addition to my career in forestry, I have a passion for skiing (Professional Ski Instructors of America Alpine Level II and Adaptive Level I certification, National Ski Patrol), mountain biking, road riding, hiking, camping, snorkeling, and anything outdoors that I can possibly get into.† Iíve worked overseas at the New Zealand Forest Research Institute (now Scion and Ensis JV), and travelled across parts of Europe, Great Britain and Scandanavia.† I plan to cover the rest of the world at some point in time.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
