The first test is on March 5th, Monday
Tentatively the class will have one mid-term exam and one final exam. The mid-term exam will be a traditional open-book in-class exam. The final exam will be take-home and will be based on a problem of your own choice. You are strongly recommended to explore a specific aspect of your graduate research. A final report and presentation will be required of every student/student group.
In addition, this being a graduate class, there will be a strong emphasis on reading peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. Readings will be assigned each week and students will be required to turn in a critique of the reading within a week's time in class. Tentatively, the following grading scheme will be followed:
Mid-term: 30%
Final: 50%
Readings and general class participation: No more than 20%
