Publication Plans

The goal of this conference is to facilitate a review of the body of science relating to Lake Superior, to promote the dissemination of new research findings, and to foster dialog on emerging issues relating to this precious ecosystem resource. To that end, contributions are sought for three scholarly conference products:

  • Journal of Aquatic Ecosystem Health and Management
Contributed papers will accepted for peer review and publication in a special issue of the journal. Authors may find the ecosystem health - management focus of this journal a particularly suitable venue for their work. All are welcome to submit.

  • Journal of Great Lakes Research
A special issue of the journal: this collection of contributed, peer-reviewed papers will present the results of recent research on Lake Superior. To date, commitments are in hand for more than 20 papers. All are welcome to submit. Publication is expected in fall 2002.

  • Lake Superior: Prelude, Processes, and Perspectives
A contribution to the EcoVision World Monograph Series: this collection of invited papers will review past research, summarize new findings, and outline evolving challenges in the management of Lake Superior. Conference organizers are soliciting nominations for authors of review papers for this book.
