Home of the nation’s first mineral boom, Michigan’s Copper Country has retained a mining legacy now preserved in the Keweenaw National Historical Park. This tour, led by members of the National Park Service, the Quincy Mine Hoist Association, and MTU’s Industrial Archeology program, will visit the Quincy shafthouse, steam hoist, and smelter and will take you ‘below ground’ into the Quincy mine.
