Scholarships
Several
railroad scholarships are available to Michigan
Tech students with interests in the railroad industry.
Applicants are encouraged to apply for the both the CSX and AREMA
scholarships.

(2006)– four scholarships of
$500 each for undergraduate students at Michigan Tech with interests
in the railroad industry
Application
process: Applications are to be submitted to Dr.
Bill Sproule, Michigan Tech Department of Civil
and Environmental Engineering. The application package is to include
a cover letter, a resume, two letters of recommendation, and a
transcript. Successful applicants will be informed of awards and will be able to use their award for the Summer
in Finland program.

AREMA
AREMA offers several scholarships for undergraduate engineering students with
interests in railroad engineering. Michigan Tech Alumni AREMA Scholarship ($1,000)
is organized through AREMA and is available for students at Michigan
Tech (applicants will also be considered for general AREMA $1000
scholarships). Application materials are to be sent to AREMA by
March 15, 2006 and successful applicants will be informed of awards
by the end of April (funds will be available for the Summer
in Finland Program). Only one application is required
for all the AREMA scholarships. For more information on application
