Lindsey Brown, BS Civil Engineering, University of Virginia, MS planned in Environmental Engineering

Lindsey Brown grew up in Virginia where she received her Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2006. While in Virginia, she enjoyed training for endurance races, camping, and volunteering at the local YMCA on weekends. Even though her friends warned her that once she moved to Michigan she'd be buried in a snow drift, now that she's here, she's been able to try her hand (and feet) at snowboarding and skiing. She first heard about the MI program while working with a construction company in D.C. the summer before her fourth year. Because she felt there was more to engineering than just the construction of another building, she knew the Peace Corps would be her next step.
