Colin Casey
BS in Civil Engineering from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee
MS planned in Civil Engineering with Sustainability Certificate

Colin is the son of two former Peace Corp volunteers and who both served in western Africa in the early 1970’s.  Born in Ann Arbor, MI, Colin and his parents moved back to Niger, Africa, before the age of 1, while his parents continued their international work for the University of Michigan.  Moving to Gainesville, FL at the age of 5, Colin was already introduced to a life of travel, knowing more would come.  At the age of 16, Colin, his younger brother Nick, and his mom, moved to Madison, WI where he finished high school and attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM) to obtain his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.  Throughout his undergraduate, Colin worked on several water service, utility, and treatment projects with an engineering firm in Milwaukee and the Washington DC area.  In his senior year, Colin traveled to Quejchip, Guatemala to work on a gravity fed water distribution system with the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) student chapter on the UWM campus; the first implementation trip ever made by the chapter.  Eager to continue his education in the environmental engineering field and quest to learn and see more, the Masters International (MI) program at Michigan Tech seemed to fit perfect.  Unsure of where he’ll end up for the Peace Corp, Colin is enjoying his time at Michigan Tech with the other MI students and living with 2 international PhD students, one Chinese, and one Iranian.  While not at school, Colin enjoys spending most of his time outdoors exploring the UP, swimming, biking, golfing, and watching the presidential debates with his roommates.
