Cara Shonsey graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO in May of 2005 with a BS in Civil Engineering. Her academic interests lie in water resources, green design and public participation of communities in engineering projects. She spent the first part of her life in a small ranching community in the sand hills of North-Central Nebraska. Residence over the Ogallala aquifer provided an early opportunity to explore in many different rivers, creeks, and lakes, creating an early connection with water. She is hoping for placement in the Peace Corps in late summer or September by the latest in as far and exotic a place as the Peace Corps will let her. Outside of academics and trying everything at least once she participates in almost any outdoor adventure sports she can afford gear for, but especially snowboarding, scuba diving and trail running.
