Why Michigan Tech?

Brandon Braithwaite hails from Central Wisconsin and a town named Colby. Though his anticipated career path has changed many times, he feels confident the PCMI program at Michigan Technological University will lead him to the appropriate one. He is really enjoying his time and experiences at "Tech."

Brandon graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in May 2005, after spending time in three Universities and a semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary. His B.S. is in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Construction Management which focuses on excavations, grading, earth
moving, and retention.

He can specifically trace to the particular point in his life when his passion for service was developed; and he wishes it happened sooner. Since then, he believes he can help the global village by helping to build sustainable technologies, and one of his goals in life is to develop a center to actively teach the constructibilty of low-tech, sustainable solutions. His involvment with Engineers Without Borders has proved to be invaluable preperation tool for the Peace Corps.

When not studying for school, which is too often, Brandon is usually pretty hard to find. He loves outdoor activites - particularly camping, hiking, and all forms of skiing. He also loves to read, engage in films, and spend quality time with his PCMI buddies before they all leave - even if Schweitzer doesn't laugh at all of his jokes.
