Amber Buhl, BS Civil Engineering, Michigan State University, MS planned in Environmental Engineering (serving in Philippines).

Where am I from? Where to begin- I was born and raised until the age of 15 in Waterford, Michigan then moved to Lapeer (also Michigan) and finally to Lansing (Michigan’s capital for all who didn’t know) and got a bachelors of science in Civil Engineering at MSU (Go Spartans!). While on a study abroad I lived in Guildford, England for four months and on a separate study abroad in Volgograd, Russia for one month.

Why am I enrolled in the Master’s International Peace Corps program? I really enjoy experiencing other cultures. I have gone on two trips abroad and have been addicted to traveling ever since. I have decided that now is the perfect time to go live in a rural community for two years because I have no attachments. Who knows maybe I’ll decide that I want to live in a different country where I have to eat with my unwashed hands permanently. You only live once right, experience life to its fullest!
