Joshua Johnson earned his AS degree in Engineering at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, MN. He later transferred to Michigan Technological University and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in May of 2008. After a seven month study abroad experience during his senior year of college in Copenhagen, Denmark he realized that an internationally versed career was the path for him and subsequently enrolled in the MI Program for Environmental Engineering at Michigan Tech in the fall of 2008. His primary academic interests include alternative energy, water resources and sustainable development.
Joshua hails from Aurora, MN which is a small town on the Iron Range in Northern MN. While not pursuing academic interests he stays involved in campus organizations like the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club and various MTU jazz bands. His interests also include fishing, camping, snowboarding, backpacking, cross country skiing, playing the drums, swimming, bicycling, etc.
Joshua is planning on departing for his Peace Corps assignment sometime around August of 2009 for parts unknown.
