HutzlerGraduate Programs in
Civil & Environmental Engineering

Welcome from the Department Chair

Thank you for your interest in one or more of the many exciting Civil & Environmental Engineering graduate programs that Michigan Tech has to offer.

I encourage you to take some time to review our web site and learn more about our graduate programs and research activities. Then, consider applying to our graduate program so that you may:
  • become an expert in your area(s) of interest while acquiring breadth of understanding and knowledge in the broader Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering field,
  • conduct interdisciplinary research in state-of-the-art facilities,
  • follow our previous M.S. and Ph.D. graduates, who have gone on to excel in industry, consulting, government, research, and academia,
  • complete your graduate education in an environment that also values innovation and excellence in undergraduate engineering education,
  • conduct ground breaking, interdisciplinary research and also: attend big city cultural events at small town prices; raise a family in a safe environment that has excellent school systems; attend (for example) a Native American Pow Wow or Division I college hockey game, and live in an area that National Geographic Explorer Magazine recently rated as one of our Nation’s “Top Ten Summer Sports Meccas.”

Please contact me or any of our department’s faculty if you have additional questions or would like to arrange a visit.

William M. Bulleit, P.E.
Professor and Chair of Civil & Environmental Engineering
